In the 5th minute, Gunter Dreier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sagemuhle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Clemens Gehm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl Schuckart in the 9th minute of the match. When Karl Schuckart fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sagemuhle's protests and gave Karl Schuckart a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Karl Schuckart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Eitel Lohrmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Mann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erdal Woll recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Hansa Rostock's Clemens Gehm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erdal Woll in the 16th minute of play. Clemens Gehm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flo Rombach, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erdal Woll in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemens Gehm saved FC Hansa Rostock from getting behind. After some careless play in the FC Hansa Rostock defense, Karl Schuckart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemens Gehm. The FC Hansa Rostock fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemens Gehm should have stopped the shot. After 27 minutes, Erdal Woll made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. FC Hansa Rostock's Clemens Gehm tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Karl Schuckart was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Sagemuhle's Karl Schuckart got a free kick in the 30th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Erdal Woll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sagemuhle's supporters rose to their feet, but Erdal Woll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemens Gehm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th match minute, FC Hansa Rostock was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eitel Lohrmann to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hansa Rostock's zone, Hanno Tannhof stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemens Gehm came out of the goal and Hanno Tannhof tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clemens Gehm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hanno Tannhof, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, FC Hansa Rostock's goal looked a bit too open when Flo Rombach came free, but Clemens Gehm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Lutz Grohganz could shoot a difficult shot in the 48th minute, which Jens Mann however easily saved by the left post.

After a defensive mix-up in FC Hansa Rostock's zone, Erdal Woll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemens Gehm came out of the goal and Erdal Woll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hanno Tannhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Clemens Gehm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Hansa Rostock's Clemens Gehm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save FC Hansa Rostock from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Sagemuhle booed when FC Hansa Rostock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Hentrop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erdal Woll came free with the goalkeeper in the 97th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Clemens Gehm could save by the left post.
