Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Heiko Schommer kicked off to start the match. Kirchhellen's Alois Nebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heiko Schommer in the 6th minute of play. Heiko Schommer struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Alois Nebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schönhof. Ken Leitner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Koller in the 10th minute of the match. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kirchhellen! Alois Nebe had in the 13thth minute some difficulties stopping Volker Hog-Heidel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Erwin Baumgärtner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ken Leitner having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kirchhellen's Edmund Hüter got a free kick in the 17th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Ken Leitner successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 24 minutes into the game, Alan Koller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ken Leitner. Alan Koller showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Kirchhellen getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Filippo Klaeden hit a great ball. Erwin Baumgärtner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Schönhof defense, Alan Koller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ken Leitner. The Schönhof fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ken Leitner should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

56 minutes in the game, Erwin Baumgärtner dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Alois Nebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiko Schommer in the 67th minute of play. Schönhof's Heiko Schommer got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Kirchhellen's Steffen Stegelmeier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 82 played minutes, Schönhof's Volker Hog-Heidel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alois Nebe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Schönhof reached it. A collision led to Kirchhellen getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Leo Grohganz hit a great ball. Heiko Schommer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Alois Nebe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alois Nebe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heiko Schommer's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Schönhof players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kirchhellen.
