Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ferdinand Bensch made the kick off and thus started the match. Lars Neitzel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Konrad Thaler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Yussuf Zampos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melle's supporters rose to their feet, but Yussuf Zampos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hergen Iggelheimer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th match minute, Piast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Binninger to maneuver through the defense. After 9 minutes of play, Melle's Yussuf Zampos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hergen Iggelheimer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 14 minutes into the match, Ivica Ladwig notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Melle's Konrad Thaler. Konrad Thaler was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yussuf Zampos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Hergen Iggelheimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Dietrich Voss was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piast the free kick. The supporters of Piast booed when Melle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dietrich Voss didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Lars Neitzel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piast's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Neitzel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Konrad Thaler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the match, Piast's goal looked a bit too open when Yussuf Zampos came free, but Hergen Iggelheimer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Piast's Theo Binninger got a free kick in the 39th minute. Hergen Iggelheimer came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Melle's Ferdinand Bensch. But to his dismay, Ferdinand Bensch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The audience thought a goal was coming when Dietrich Voss got free with Hergen Iggelheimer in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Samir Engbertz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 59th minute. Melle's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 61 minutes, Theo Binninger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piast and the Melle players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Piast's Theo Binninger got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ferdinand Bensch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Melle booed when Piast was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Binninger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hergen Iggelheimer acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pal Jager. In the 67th minute, Ron Stöckle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eduard Sikirski fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piast's protests and gave Eduard Sikirski a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piast fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Melle a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pal Jager, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Piast's Hergen Iggelheimer. 2-4. Hergen Iggelheimer made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Samir Engbertz sent off a good shot on target. Hergen Iggelheimer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Bensch, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Samir Engbertz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Yussuf Zampos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hergen Iggelheimer was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. Piast's defense didn't have a chance, in the 98th minute, when Ferdinand Bensch scored to the left of an out of position Hergen Iggelheimer, making the score, 2-6. When the match was over Melle could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Piast throughout the match.
