Yussuf Zampos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Joseph Wittig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Gengenbach's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melle the free kick. After 27 played minutes, Melle's Pal Jager shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alf Harder came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Melle reached it. A collision led to Melle getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dietrich Voss hit a great ball. Alf Harder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Bensch in the 37th minute of the match. Alf Harder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yussuf Zampos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yussuf Zampos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Harder having to interfere. After some careless play in the SV Gengenbach defense, Samir Engbertz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alf Harder. The SV Gengenbach fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alf Harder should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Melle's Yussuf Zampos in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Conni Buckmann took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alf Harder. SV Gengenbach's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinand Bensch in the 62nd minute of play forced SV Gengenbach's goalkeeper Alf Harder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Yussuf Zampos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yussuf Zampos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alf Harder came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Melle's Yussuf Zampos. But to his dismay, Yussuf Zampos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Johann Todzi hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Alf Harder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Bensch, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Yussuf Zampos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Alf Harder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yussuf Zampos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Alf Harder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Melle left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SV Gengenbach.
