Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Heiko Schommer took the kick off in the first half of the match. Heimito Balz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ken Leitner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 4th minute, Erhard Haye de la got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 5 minutes, Janek Winkelmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schönhof and the SV Gengenbach players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Schönhof got a freekick which was hit by Janek Winkelmann. 10 minutes into the game, Volker Hog-Heidel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schönhof's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Gengenbach the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Schönhof:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SV Gengenbach:s goal. Ken Leitner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erhard Haye de la in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, José Bernhardt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erhard Haye de la in the 18th minute of play forced Schönhof's goalkeeper Ken Leitner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alf Harder didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Dominik Bakker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Alf Harder made a huge save. Dominik Bakker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Harder having to interfere. If Heiko Schommer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Gengenbach's goalkeeper Alf Harder, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erhard Haye de la to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Janek Winkelmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dominik Bakker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Harder having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Dominik Bakker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schönhof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominik Bakker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dominik Bakker came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Schönhof fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominik Bakker couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the match, Schönhof's Heiko Schommer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alf Harder narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Heiko Schommer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johann Todzi during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alf Harder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heiko Schommer in the 67th minute of the match. Alf Harder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Bakker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alf Harder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heiko Schommer's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Heiko Schommer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alf Harder was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. If Heiko Schommer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heiko Schommer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alf Harder having to make a save. After 90 played minutes Schönhof got a freekick which was hit by Volker Hog-Heidel. With a little luck, Schönhof's Ken Leitner got control of the ball when Allan Haslbeck tried to sneak it across the goal line. Schönhof walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
