Winfried Schomburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Helmut Gehl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Winfried Schomburg managed to get in a good position for a shot. FSV Harz Thale's supporters rose to their feet, but Winfried Schomburg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmut Gehl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Helmut Gehl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torsten Löwe in the 44th minute of the match. When the match was over FSV Harz Thale could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vechta FSV throughout the match.
