Lazio Rom's Benjamin Söbbe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lysander Niederberger in the 24th minute of play. Bozo Platen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jes Schwaiger having to interfere. Jes Schwaiger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Sippel in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Lukas Maier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flo Gobsch hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Lysander Niederberger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lysander Niederberger scored 1-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamin Söbbe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bozo Platen made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, S.S. Lazio Rom's goal looked a bit too open when René Busch came free, but Benjamin Söbbe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
