Bernhard Rehmann made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Hugo Höfer sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the 1. FC Thiemheim defense, Henning Joneschat kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Scharfenberg. The 1. FC Thiemheim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Scharfenberg should have stopped the shot. Luis Hädicke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernhard Rehmann having to interfere. Thomas Scharfenberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henning Joneschat went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Altleiningen's zone, Hugo Höfer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernhard Rehmann came out of the goal and Hugo Höfer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henning Joneschat struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Thomas Scharfenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altleiningen. Thomas Scharfenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Habib Hilkes, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Thomas Scharfenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henning Joneschat in the 37th minute of play. Thomas Scharfenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoph Glomb in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1. FC Thiemheim's goalkeeper Thomas Scharfenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Urs van Gorkom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute of the match David Schumm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas Scharfenberg skillfully saved the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henning Joneschat made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Altleiningen's zone, Jost Pofalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernhard Rehmann came out of the goal and Jost Pofalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jost Pofalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernhard Rehmann having to interfere. Bernhard Rehmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Hädicke, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Bernhard Rehmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Hädicke in the 59th minute of play. Thomas Scharfenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Joneschat in the 61st minute of the match. 1. FC Thiemheim's Thomas Scharfenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henning Joneschat in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute Luis Hädicke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernhard Rehmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Christoph Glomb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Scharfenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When Jost Pofalla came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the 1. FC Thiemheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jost Pofalla couldn't finish the play. Jörg Hemmel scored 0-4 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Scharfenberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernhard Rehmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Höfer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Altleiningen's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
