Spectators: 6600 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Manevra FC's Hartmut Grabert started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erich Barzik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Pache in the 3rd minute of play. Bozo Recknagel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jes Pilz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bozo Recknagel got free with Jes Pilz in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erich Barzik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leroy Bolenz's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. If Hartmut Grabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the game, Otmar Kielholz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manrode FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manevra FC the free kick. When Feddo Lahme came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Manevra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feddo Lahme couldn't finish the play. After 30th play minutes Joachim Pache shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Erich Barzik and just under the crossbar into goal. If Joachim Pache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erich Barzik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leroy Bolenz, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joachim Pache made a kick off. Hartmut Grabert took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jes Pilz. Jes Pilz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Philipp Gehb struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Erich Barzik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manrode FSV. 63 minutes into the match, Manevra FC's goalkeeper Erich Barzik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leroy Bolenz. In the 66th minute of the match, Leroy Bolenz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Erich Barzik was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jes Pilz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bozo Recknagel's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. In the 68th match minute, Manrode FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Wittmann to maneuver through the defense. When Olaf Hildebrandt fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manrode FSV's protests and gave Olaf Hildebrandt a yellow card for diving instead. Jörgen Bossert hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 75th minute, when Manrode FSV's Ibrahim Piater after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Erich Barzik in Manevra FC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Bozo Recknagel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bozo Recknagel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jes Pilz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Joachim Pache recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Erich Barzik. Joachim Pache showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The Manrode FSV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Manrode FSV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
