But to his dismay, Joachim Pache quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Thomas Scharfenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Pache in the 62nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in 1. FC Thiemheim's zone, Leroy Bolenz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Scharfenberg came out of the goal and Leroy Bolenz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Manrode FSV booed when 1. Manrode FSV's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
