After a rather tough play, Eintracht Frankfurt's Uwe Melzer got a free kick in the 20th minute. If Hugo Höfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to 1. FC Thiemheim getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Andreas Dohnanyi hit a great ball. When Luis Hädicke fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1. FC Thiemheim's protests and gave Luis Hädicke a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes 1. FC Thiemheim got a freekick which was hit by Luis Hädicke. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Ronnie Benesch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eintracht Frankfurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronnie Benesch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Scharfenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The shot was stopped by Thomas Scharfenberg but with some difficulty. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. 1. FC Thiemheim were victorious despite being under pressure from Eintracht Frankfurt for much of the match.
