Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Volkmar Mebus got the match started through his kick off. If Dierk Wilkendorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Klein Breese's goalkeeper Finn Büttgenbach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christoph Egger. Finn Büttgenbach was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christoph Egger showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 9th minute, Dierk Wilkendorf ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vinzenz Thimm was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Volkmar Mebus in the 13th minute of play forced Barl's goalkeeper Vinzenz Thimm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Christoph Egger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Finn Büttgenbach was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience was convinced that Ulrich Händel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Finn Büttgenbach was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 27th minute of the match, Ulrich Händel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Finn Büttgenbach saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wolfgang Pothmer charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wolfgang Pothmer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Barl getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Wolfgang Pothmer hit a great ball. In the 30th minute of the match Klein Breese got a corner. Barl's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christian Böse ran over to the corner to take the kick. Christian Böse made a great header on Klein Breese's corner, it was just that Barl's Vinzenz Thimm managed to reach the ball for a save. Klein Breese's Dierk Wilkendorf got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Klaus Leffek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulrich Händel to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Barl's Vinzenz Thimm got control of the ball when Thomas Esser tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute Ulrich Händel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finn Büttgenbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wolfgang Pothmer was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. After 61 played minutes Barl got a freekick which was hit by Wolfgang Pothmer. In the 62nd minute, Barl's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Volkmar Mebus fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vinzenz Thimm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Volkmar Mebus, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Volkmar Mebus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute of the match Falk Motzer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Finn Büttgenbach skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute Christoph Egger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finn Büttgenbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Christoph Egger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 minutes, Friedbert Klein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Klein Breese and the Barl players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Christoph Egger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barl's supporters rose to their feet, but Christoph Egger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Finn Büttgenbach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Volkmar Mebus was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Klein Breese's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dierk Wilkendorf could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Vinzenz Thimm made a huge save. If Thomas Esser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dierk Wilkendorf was extremely unlucky when he, in the 96th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
