The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luigi Buchele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Schürmann-Horster, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Ruschkamp's Anatol Hidien couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 6th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fc Berlin. Niels Piesche struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Adi Queitsch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ruschkamp. Niels Piesche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Quint Ziege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adi Queitsch having to interfere. If Rupert Schürmann-Horster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Burkhard Kruck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Berlin's supporters rose to their feet, but Burkhard Kruck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luigi Buchele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Marcel Siebert fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ruschkamp's protests and gave Marcel Siebert a yellow card for diving instead. Marcel Siebert kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Burkhard Kruck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luigi Buchele having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Fc Berlin's goalkeeper Adi Queitsch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niels Piesche. Quint Ziege received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Adi Queitsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Ruschkamp's goal looked a bit too open when Burkhard Kruck came free, but Luigi Buchele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rupert Schürmann-Horster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ruschkamp's Luigi Buchele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Burkhard Kruck in the 53rd minute of play. When Niels Piesche came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ruschkamp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niels Piesche couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute Quint Ziege shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adi Queitsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burkhard Kruck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Burkhard Kruck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adi Queitsch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niels Piesche in the 73rd minute of the match. Quint Ziege succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. 79 minutes into the game, Burkhard Kruck recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luigi Buchele. Burkhard Kruck showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Gisbert Faber kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Niels Piesche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Adi Queitsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 played minutes, Ruschkamp's Curd Pleschke shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adi Queitsch came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ruschkamp reached it. Luigi Buchele made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rupert Schürmann-Horster in the 96th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
