The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Katterbach FSV booed when Hebelei FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasimir Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gernot Bechtron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Hülsen having to interfere. Hebelei FSV's Johannes Hülsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Hebelei FSV from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Lino Achterdeich took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Johannes Hülsen to make any attempt to save it. Dittmar Ruck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Oberbeck went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Katterbach FSV were furious when Gerlach Sterk was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Katterbach FSV fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Klemens Steffen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Katterbach FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Klemens Steffen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johannes Hülsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Katterbach FSV's Dittmar Ruck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ehrhard Brausch in the 27th minute of play. After 33 played minutes Hebelei FSV got a freekick which was hit by Kasimir Beck. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uwe Hofmann in the 36th minute of play forced Katterbach FSV's goalkeeper Dittmar Ruck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Alexander Berghorn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Katterbach FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexander Berghorn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Katterbach FSV fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hebelei FSV had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
