Dittmar Ruck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Detlef Kracht, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Detlef Kracht recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dittmar Ruck. Katterbach FSV's Dittmar Ruck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Detlef Kracht in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Esenshammergroden FC's Ralf Lembeck ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dittmar Ruck. One of Katterbach FSV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Esenshammergroden FC:s goal. In the 45th minute of the game, Esenshammergroden FC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
