The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Laurenz Thumser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Hartmut Neveling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 6 minutes, Laurenz Thumser managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eichenzell FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurenz Thumser was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laurenz Thumser recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hartmut Neveling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurenz Thumser, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Eichenzell FSV booed when DADO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Asbeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laurenz Thumser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hartmut Neveling having to interfere. Emanuel Kilz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hartmut Neveling having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurenz Thumser in the 26th minute of play forced DADO FC's goalkeeper Hartmut Neveling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 played minutes, Eichenzell FSV's Linus Achminow shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hartmut Neveling came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

52 minutes into the match, Berko Lahann notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Eichenzell FSV's Rudi Gudat. Rudi Gudat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emanuel Kilz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hartmut Neveling read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 68th minute Laurenz Thumser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hartmut Neveling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hartmut Neveling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurenz Thumser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hartmut Neveling made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Kilz in the 77th minute. Emanuel Kilz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, DADO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laurenz Thumser came free, but Hartmut Neveling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurenz Thumser received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hartmut Neveling came out and tried to block the shot, but Laurenz Thumser slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 95th minute.
