Fussballclub Berlin's Gregorij Rampp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Grein in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute of the match, Volkmar Schlenz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Torge Bühler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Potsdam's goalkeeper Torge Bühler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 12 minutes, Eberhard Kästner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fussballclub Berlin and the SV Potsdam players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Kay Veddermann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Dapp in the 16th minute of play forced SV Potsdam's goalkeeper Torge Bühler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niko Scharfenberg in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Torge Bühler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Volkmar Schlenz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Torge Bühler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Volkmar Schlenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torge Bühler made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Volkmar Schlenz sent off a good shot on target. Volkmar Schlenzs short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Torge Bühler to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Raimund Vogel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, SV Potsdam's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Dapp came free, but Torge Bühler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Volkmar Schlenz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 43rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimund Vogel in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torge Bühler saved SV Potsdam from getting behind. In the 47th minute Owen Grein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorij Rampp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Owen Grein made a precise shot to the right of Gregorij Rampp. Fussballclub Berlin's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1.

After having played for 55 minutes, Volkmar Schlenz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fussballclub Berlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Volkmar Schlenz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Volkmar Schlenz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fussballclub Berlin's supporters rose to their feet, but Volkmar Schlenz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torge Bühler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in SV Potsdam's zone, Giuseppe Dapp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After 62 played minutes Fussballclub Berlin got a freekick which was hit by Volkmar Schlenz. In the 63rd match minute, SV Potsdam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordon Goy to maneuver through the defense. Giuseppe Dapp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Torge Bühler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Volkmar Schlenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Fussballclub Berlin failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
