Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reimund Heim to make the kick off. With a little luck, FC Rhenania Bottrop's Tom Korte got control of the ball when Marc Lettrari tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reimund Heim in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. After 59 minutes of play FC Rhenania Bottrop's Sebastian Bachert was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th minute, Sebastian Bachert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
