Lothar Oberbeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Taubeneiche FSV defense, Egmont Klich kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Kraft. The Taubeneiche FSV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Kraft should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute Marc-Dominic Rolker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Kraft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, one of Real Madrid CF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Madrid CF. Frank Raiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leander Pfeffer in the 91st minute of play. Real Madrid CF's Florian Ressemann got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Taubeneiche FSV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Real Madrid CF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
