Kasimir Gotthard kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Martin Obermeier charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kamperling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Obermeier to maneuver through the defense. If Lothar Oberbeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. Frank Raiser was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roberto Kanzleiter showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kasimir Gotthard got free with Frank Raiser in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute Lothar Oberbeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominik Zuse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc-Dominic Rolker took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dominik Zuse. Dominik Zuse dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Florian Ressemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. VFL. Kamperling's Dominik Zuse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lothar Oberbeck in the 37th minute of play. If Marc-Dominic Rolker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, VFL. Kamperling's goal looked a bit too open when Lothar Oberbeck came free, but Dominik Zuse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Christoph Gramminger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Madrid CF's Lothar Oberbeck couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for VFL. Kamperling. The supporters of Real Madrid CF booed when VFL. Kamperling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Kanzleiter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florian Ressemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lothar Oberbeck to make the kick off. Real Madrid CF's Marc-Dominic Rolker got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerrit Schockenhoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dominik Zuse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc-Dominic Rolker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lothar Oberbeck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dominik Zuse was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Lothar Oberbeck might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dominik Zuse. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Ressemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Real Madrid CF's Bob Marquardt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Dominik Zuse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lothar Oberbeck in the 89th minute of play.
