Edgar Brechtheimer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Immo Thiel went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 11th minute, Falk Redepenning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ingmar Hermann succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Edgar Brechtheimer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingmar Hermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thilo Gunter Mock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ingmar Hermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Edgar Brechtheimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Immo Thiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eberstadt Pfungstadt's Edgar Brechtheimer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Hermann in the 42nd minute of play. Ingmar Hermann struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Edgar Brechtheimer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Elmshorn. FC Elmshorn's Thomas Schöneberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Rodemann in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ingmar Hermann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Immo Thiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Brechtheimer having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Ephraim Schapper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Friedemann Reis hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Immo Thiel in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Brechtheimer saved Eberstadt Pfungstadt from getting behind. Ingmar Hermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Edgar Brechtheimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Immo Thiel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Brechtheimer was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Ole Korkus's late challenge caught a FC Elmshorn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ole Korkus helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Eberstadt Pfungstadt getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ole Korkus hit a great ball. Edgar Brechtheimer made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ingmar Hermann sent off a good shot on target. Ingmar Hermann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Edgar Brechtheimer made a huge save. 77 minutes into the game, Friedemann Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eberstadt Pfungstadt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Elmshorn the free kick. Friedemann Reis hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Immo Thiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Immo Thiel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
