Thomas Schöneberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lysander Moll in the 7th minute of the match. Ingmar Hermann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Ibrahim Wieck when he managed to save the team from getting behind. FC Elmshorn's Thomas Schöneberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lysander Moll in the 10th minute of play. After 11 minutes, Ingmar Hermann made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Bad Cannstatt's Ibrahim Wieck tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ibrahim Wieck made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Ingmar Hermann sent off a good shot on target. If Immo Thiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Elmshorn's Ingmar Hermann got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thilo Gunter Mock charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thilo Gunter Mock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute Immo Thiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ibrahim Wieck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, FC Bad Cannstatt's goal looked a bit too open when Immo Thiel came free, but Ibrahim Wieck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Heinz Ansmann notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC Elmshorn's Thomas Schöneberg. Thomas Schöneberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of FC Bad Cannstatt booed when FC Elmshorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arben Epp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ibrahim Wieck was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lysander Moll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Bad Cannstatt's Bosse Dauenhauer got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, FC Bad Cannstatt's goal looked a bit too open when Immo Thiel came free, but Ibrahim Wieck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Immo Thiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Immo Thiel in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ibrahim Wieck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 90th minute, Thilo Gunter Mock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ibrahim Wieck was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.
