Edgar Brechtheimer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 7 minutes, Christos Weckenmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eberstadt Pfungstadt and the Wierthe FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Eberstadt Pfungstadt got a freekick which was hit by Christos Weckenmann. Kasimir Koller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, Toralf Bothenhain was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wierthe FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eberstadt Pfungstadt the free kick. After 18 played minutes Wierthe FSV got a freekick which was hit by Toralf Bothenhain. When Femke Wahlberg came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Wierthe FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Femke Wahlberg couldn't finish the play. Edgar Brechtheimer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kasimir Koller went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 34 played minutes Wierthe FSV got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Görmann. Kasimir Koller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Gehlen scored 1-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar Brechtheimer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kasimir Koller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Edgar Brechtheimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Wierthe FSV were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kasimir Koller made the kick off in the second half. Focko Wessendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falk Redepenning in the 51st minute of play. Wim Gehlen in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgar Brechtheimer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Edgar Brechtheimer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasimir Koller in the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Wierthe FSV booed when Eberstadt Pfungstadt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ephraim Schapper didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Eberstadt Pfungstadt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falk Redepenning to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasimir Koller in the 91st minute of play forced Eberstadt Pfungstadt's goalkeeper Edgar Brechtheimer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Wierthe FSV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Eberstadt Pfungstadt throughout the match.
