Spectators: 6470 (Terracing: 5100, Seating: 1350, VIP seats: 20) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rolf Hentschel started the match with the kick off. If Immo Thiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ingmar Hermann in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henrik Bohle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute, Immo Thiel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute, Oscar Boshold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Immo Thiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rüdiger Kanterss short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Thomas Schöneberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Elmshorn's Thomas Schöneberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolf Hentschel in the 27th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, FC Elmshorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephan Eichel to maneuver through the defense. Rüdiger Kanters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Thomas Schöneberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrik Bohle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Hermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ingmar Hermann struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Henrik Bohle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Elmshorn. In the 46th minute, Rüdiger Kanters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Immo Thiel made a kick off. Immo Thiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Bohle having to interfere. After 54 minutes of play, FC Elmshorn's Ingmar Hermann made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henrik Bohle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arben Epp got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Thomas Schöneberg came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Ohlenfeld's Rüdiger Kanters. But to his dismay, Rüdiger Kanters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ohlenfeld's zone, Ingmar Hermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrik Bohle came out of the goal and Ingmar Hermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rüdiger Kanters spun around in front of the goal 63 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of FC Elmshorn's goal. Henrik Bohle made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Ingmar Hermann sent off a good shot on target. Ingmar Hermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Bohle having to interfere. Ingmar Hermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Henrik Bohle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Elmshorn defense, Rüdiger Kanters kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Schöneberg. The FC Elmshorn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Schöneberg should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Ohlenfeld booed when FC Elmshorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephan Eichel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolf Hentschel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Schöneberg having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Ohlenfeld's goalkeeper Henrik Bohle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingmar Hermann. Immo Thiel scored 2-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrik Bohle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ohlenfeld succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Elmshorn had controlled the match.
