Heinz Ansmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Thomas Schöneberg made a huge save. After 16 minutes of play, FC Elmshorn's Immo Thiel made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ibrahim Wieck was left in no man's land by his defense there! 20 minutes into the match, FC Bad Cannstatt's goal looked a bit too open when Immo Thiel came free, but Ibrahim Wieck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Immo Thiel made the kick off in the second half. In the 75th minute, Ralf Noll hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes, FC Bad Cannstatt's Dennis Rousek shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Schöneberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Bad Cannstatt reached it. In the 86thth minute of the game Arben Epp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Bad Cannstatt's Ibrahim Wieck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of FC Bad Cannstatt booed when FC Elmshorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thilo Gunter Mock didn't get a good kick on the ball.
