Stuart Balint showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick-Marc Demitter, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Manfred Hegemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Polonia Gaschowitz's Manfred Hegemann got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Kosmas Rilke made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes, SV Stahl Thale's Niko Schikowsky shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stuart Balint came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Stahl Thale reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Polonia Gaschowitz's zone, Patrick-Marc Demitter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stuart Balint came out of the goal and Patrick-Marc Demitter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the game, Falko Kuhni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polonia Gaschowitz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Stahl Thale the free kick. Pius Sichelstiel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stuart Balint. Polonia Gaschowitz's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 66th minute, Kosmas Rilke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrick-Marc Demitter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Stuart Balint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Heiko Zeiss during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 79th minute, Heiko Zeiss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 81 in the game by Manfred Hegemann from a close distance when the talented Tony Gantenbrink managed to make a qualified save. SV Stahl Thale's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Patrick-Marc Demitter managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Stahl Thale's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick-Marc Demitter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stuart Balint breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patrick-Marc Demitter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart Balint having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Polonia Gaschowitz's Manfred Hegemann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Gantenbrink narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kosmas Rilke in the 93rd minute of play forced SV Stahl Thale's goalkeeper Tony Gantenbrink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lukas Mögle came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the SV Stahl Thale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lukas Mögle couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
