Louis Bracke's late challenge caught a SG Sipplingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Sonnhart FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Springfeld to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Epping blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marvin Kneuer having to make a save. Sonnhart FSV's Marvin Kneuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Pagel in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otis Meckel in the 20th minute of play forced Sonnhart FSV's goalkeeper Marvin Kneuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Joel Hansel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SG Sipplingen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Marvin Kneuer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Hansel, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Adil Scherhag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Sonnhart FSV getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vincent Springfeld hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Pajewski in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marvin Kneuer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half SG Sipplingen were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldinho Pagel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, SG Sipplingen's Marvin Kneuer threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benjamin Epping, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 56 minutes into the match, Sonnhart FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Otis Meckel came free, but Marvin Kneuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Joel Hansel sped through Sonnhart FSV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marvin Kneuer. 74 minutes into the game, SG Sipplingen's Jan Pajewski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marvin Kneuer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 76 minutes into the match, Sonnhart FSV's goalkeeper Marvin Kneuer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Hansel. In the 91st minute, SG Sipplingen's Ronaldinho Pagel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marvin Kneuer. Marvin Kneuer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. The supporters of Sonnhart FSV booed when SG Sipplingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Pagel didn't get a good kick on the ball. SG Sipplingen played a much better game than Sonnhart FSV and deserved their victory. The Sonnhart FSV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
