In the 13th minute, SG Sipplingen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lukas Mögle fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Benjamin Epping struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Tony Gantenbrink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SG Sipplingen. If Ronaldinho Pagel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristide Petsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Gantenbrink having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, SG Sipplingen's goalkeeper Isaak Bousonville had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lukas Mögle. SG Sipplingen's Aristide Petsch got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldinho Pagel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Gantenbrink having to interfere. If Joel Hansel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Benjamin Epping had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristide Petsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tony Gantenbrink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Pagel in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Gantenbrink prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick-Marc Demitter in the 45th minute of play forced SG Sipplingen's goalkeeper Isaak Bousonville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldinho Pagel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Gantenbrink read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick-Marc Demitter was the one to do the kick off. When Jan Pajewski came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the SG Sipplingen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Pajewski couldn't finish the play. Joel Hansel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tony Gantenbrink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Aristide Petsch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aristide Petsch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Gantenbrink having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Pagel in the 62nd minute of play forced SV Stahl Thale's goalkeeper Tony Gantenbrink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Gantenbrink didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 64th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. If Ronaldinho Pagel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Ronaldinho Pagel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SG Sipplingen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldinho Pagel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conrad Harnack was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 72 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, one of SG Sipplingen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SG Sipplingen. The referee gave SV Stahl Thale a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pius Sichelstiel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SG Sipplingen's Isaak Bousonville. 2-1. If Joel Hansel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristide Petsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Gantenbrink having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SV Stahl Thale's zone, Aristide Petsch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Gantenbrink came out of the goal and Aristide Petsch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Farin Czogalla during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes SG Sipplingen got a freekick which was hit by Farin Czogalla. Benjamin Epping sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaak Bousonville showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick-Marc Demitter in the 97th minute of the match. The SV Stahl Thale players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
