Giebelscheid FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chris Reincke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a little luck, SV Stahl Thale's Tony Gantenbrink got control of the ball when Hanno Giurgin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fridun Becker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Mögle, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With his leg Tony Gantenbrink managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Giebelscheid FC's Bastian Peeger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Bastian Peeger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giebelscheid FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bastian Peeger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Gantenbrink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 42 played minutes SV Stahl Thale got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Burdach. Bastian Peeger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Tony Gantenbrink made a huge save. In the 46th match minute, SV Stahl Thale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Burdach to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Patrick-Marc Demitter made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hanno Giurgin in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Gantenbrink prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Gabriel Eckert came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Giebelscheid FC fans jumped to their feet.
