Abdul Boehme started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Gelsenkirchen United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Raik Hahn hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Gelsenkirchen United's goal looked a bit too open when Ignaz Solder came free, but Jo Fuhl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jo Fuhl came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Schwarzburg's Willibert Emmerich. But to his dismay, Willibert Emmerich quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jo Fuhl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Tepper in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Schwarzburg booed when Gelsenkirchen United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Heerckes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Karel Danes made a precise shot to the right of Jo Fuhl. Gelsenkirchen United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Jo Fuhl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludwig Tepper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jo Fuhl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Tepper in the 31st minute of play. When Schwarzburg's Ludwig Tepper in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Schwarzburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Ludwig Tepper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jo Fuhl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jo Fuhl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignaz Solder in the 48th minute of play. The Gelsenkirchen United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Schwarzburg were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ludwig Tepper was the one to do the kick off. Willibert Emmerich scored 0-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jo Fuhl, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Abdul Boehme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Gelsenkirchen United's goal looked a bit too open when Ludwig Tepper came free, but Jo Fuhl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jerome Heerckes fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gelsenkirchen United's protests and gave Jerome Heerckes a yellow card for diving instead. Jerome Heerckes kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Ludwig Tepper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jo Fuhl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignaz Solder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignaz Solder might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jo Fuhl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ignaz Solder ran back to his position shaking his head. Ignaz Solder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jo Fuhl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jo Fuhl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignaz Solder in the 79th minute. Jo Fuhl didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 89th minute, which inside left pole to 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignaz Solder got free with Jo Fuhl in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jo Fuhl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignaz Solder in the 94th minute. When the match was over Schwarzburg could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gelsenkirchen United throughout the match.
