The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Sulzbach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Heinz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dagobert Gehrig took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oliver Josef Kummer. Sulzbach's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Andreas Heinz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Rossel got free with Tim Kreissler in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute, Sulzbach's Andreas Heinz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Tim Kreissler came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Sulzbach's Felix Rossel. But to his dismay, Felix Rossel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Andreas Heinz struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Tim Kreissler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sulzbach. Tim Kreissler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Rossel went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Armin Roob came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sulzbach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armin Roob couldn't finish the play. After having played for 46 minutes, Felix Rossel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sulzbach's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Rossel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armin Roob in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tim Kreissler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tim Kreissler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piotr Rehmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 56 minutes, Armin Roob managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sulzbach's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armin Roob was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Lennart Busse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sulzbach the free kick. After 59 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Busse. 60 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Rossel came free, but Tim Kreissler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Piotr Rehmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Kreissler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Piotr Rehmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Piotr Rehmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Kreissler having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piotr Rehmann in the 71st minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Tim Kreissler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Toni Berlingen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Andreas Heinz might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tim Kreissler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andreas Heinz ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Sulzbach players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
