Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Winfried Sundmacher started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Eintracht Frankfurt's Hubert Drescher pulled a muscle in his leg after 3 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 3 minutes into the game, Clint Knipprath was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eintracht Frankfurt the free kick. Eintracht Frankfurt's attentive Dustin Hasenstab managed to snatch the ball when Niklas Großmann made a throw-in in the 6th minute of the game. 9 minutes into the game, Adolf Pfau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gianni Wolsch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolf Pfau in the 13th minute of play forced Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper Gianni Wolsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toni Berlingen scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gianni Wolsch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Eintracht Frankfurt players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Borussia Dortmund were winning 0-3.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clint Knipprath stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Adolf Pfau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lennart Busse scored 0-4 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gianni Wolsch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gianni Wolsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clint Knipprath in the 57th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Toni Berlingen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leroy Aigner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Winfried Sundmacher came free, but Tim Kreissler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianni Wolsch was a little too slow when Clint Knipprath got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-6. After 78 minutes, Adolf Pfau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia Dortmund and the Eintracht Frankfurt players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Adolf Pfau hit a great ball. Dustin Hasenstab kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Gianni Wolsch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clint Knipprath, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Winfried Sundmacher came free, but Tim Kreissler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Adolf Pfau hit a great ball. Karsten Ehrl kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Eintracht Frankfurt fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Borussia Dortmund were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
