Friedrich Hunds made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Ke Chang Hong sent off a good shot on target. Nico Rebstrup's late challenge caught a Hirzenach FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Hirzenach FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Friedrich Hunds should have stopped the shot. If Ke Chang Hong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gisbert Beck made a kick off. Friedrich Hunds made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ke Chang Hong in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes in the game, Nico Rebstrup dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Kim Hirt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aalen IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Hirt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Friedrich Hunds breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Harms in the 62nd minute of play forced Hirzenach FC's goalkeeper Friedrich Hunds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hirzenach FC's goalkeeper Friedrich Hunds, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hansjörg Liebert kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Ke Chang Hong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nico Rebstrup couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Plesetz during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oliver Plesetz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Friedrich Hunds showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ke Chang Hong, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Ke Chang Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Friedrich Hunds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Holger Harms couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Aalen IF's Nico Rebstrup got a free kick in the 87th minute. Ke Chang Hong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Friedrich Hunds read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gisbert Beck in the 94th minute of play forced Aalen IF's goalkeeper Fritz Labauve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
