Till Augustin went to the wrong direction when Diego Jokerst was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Marek Lohr did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Tonio Lingens 15 minutes into the match. Marek Lohr came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tonio Lingens could save by the left post. Thilo Zimmermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Rothenbergen FSV's goalkeeper Tonio Lingens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marek Lohr. Tonio Lingens made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Marek Lohr sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The supporters of Rothenbergen FSV booed when Kraftsdorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Berns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marek Lohr scored 5-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tonio Lingens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rd minute Tim Hartenbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Till Augustin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Thilo Zimmermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rothenbergen FSV's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
