Raimar Metzler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Rothenbergen FSV's Jens Lowe got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Peter-Stefan Bilstein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szikszy's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter-Stefan Bilstein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tonio Lingens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the match, Rothenbergen FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Peter-Stefan Bilstein came free, but Tonio Lingens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopold Bannemann in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tonio Lingens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rothenbergen FSV's Tonio Lingens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopold Bannemann in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter-Stefan Bilstein to make the kick off. Peter-Stefan Bilstein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tonio Lingens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Szikszy got a freekick which was hit by Dan Bresack. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Tonio Lingens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Szikszy's Peter-Stefan Bilstein got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Szikszy got a freekick which was hit by Peter-Stefan Bilstein. Jens Lowe charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens Lowe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jens Lowe kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Leopold Bannemann dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tonio Lingens, 2-3. After 77 played minutes Szikszy got a freekick which was hit by Günther Bousonville. If Leopold Bannemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the game, Szikszy's Leopold Bannemann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tonio Lingens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. A collision led to Rothenbergen FSV getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tim Hartenbach hit a great ball. Szikszy's Leopold Bannemann managed to work through Rothenbergen FSV's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Leopold Bannemann dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Szikszy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
