In the 8th minute Peter Wahlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elia Klimke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herwig Wilzek kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Abdel Fostiropoulos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elia Klimke skillfully saved the ball. Elia Klimke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Wahlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Wahlberg in the 19th minute of play forced Schümersmühle's goalkeeper Elia Klimke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Adam Menger dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Michael Stieglitz, 2-0. In the 25th minute, Peter Wahlberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elia Klimke was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Adam Menger ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the game, Konstantin Romstedt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Die Durchstarter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schümersmühle the free kick. After 35 played minutes Die Durchstarter got a freekick which was hit by Konstantin Romstedt. Frederico Wuttke's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Michael Stieglitz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Frederico Wuttke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Die Durchstarter's Michael Stieglitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Menger in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Hermann Giebenrath managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schümersmühle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Giebenrath was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gisbert Berlich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Menger to make the kick off. When Frederico Wuttke came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Schümersmühle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Wuttke couldn't finish the play. If Hermann Giebenrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Stieglitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adam Menger went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Peter Wahlberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Elia Klimke made a huge save. In the 71st minute, Gisbert Berlich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michael Stieglitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gisbert Berlich in the 72nd minute of the match. After 73 minutes, Anton Nagat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Die Durchstarter and the Schümersmühle players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Die Durchstarter getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Anton Nagat hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Die Durchstarter's zone, Gisbert Berlich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Stieglitz came out of the goal and Gisbert Berlich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute Adam Menger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Stieglitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Die Durchstarter's Michael Stieglitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gisbert Berlich in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Die Durchstarter booed when Schümersmühle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermann Giebenrath didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elia Klimke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egidius Hähle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
