Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ralf Heintges kicked off to start the match. Jari Flemming made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jörgen Wieck in the 3rd minute. Jari Flemming made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Jörgen Wieck sent off a good shot on target. After 13 played minutes UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN got a freekick which was hit by Marc Kennerknecht. Jari Flemming made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Birke in the 17th minute of play. Ronnie Yüksel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Lühe's Ronnie Yüksel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Richard Hebel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jörgen Wieck's late challenge caught a Lühe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörgen Wieck helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's Jörgen Wieck got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ricardo Kölbl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jari Flemming read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Jari Flemming took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Birke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jari Flemming came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's Jörgen Wieck. But to his dismay, Jörgen Wieck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Heintges in the 42nd minute of play forced UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's goalkeeper Richard Hebel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Dettinger hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Birke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jörgen Wieck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lühe's goalkeeper Jari Flemming, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lühe's Jari Flemming played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Birke in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's goalkeeper Richard Hebel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Heintges. Lühe's Ronnie Yüksel was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 66th minute, Ronnie Yüksel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Birke in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jari Flemming saved Lühe from getting behind. Ralf Heintges's late challenge caught a UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Ronnie Yüksel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lühe's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronnie Yüksel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Hebel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Jan Birke made a precise shot to the right of Jari Flemming. Lühe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After a rather tough play, Lühe's Malte Sonnemans got a free kick in the 81st minute. Richard Hebel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Heintges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute Ralf Heintges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Hebel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ralf Heintges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Hebel having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lühe's zone, Jan Birke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jari Flemming came out of the goal and Jan Birke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
