Rappo Jaksch started the match with the kick off. If Konrad Fink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aimo Jäger made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Casimir Domann sent off a good shot on target. FC Mainzweiler's Casimir Domann got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aimo Jäger made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Gunther Vorwerk sent off a good shot on target. Aimo Jäger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunther Vorwerk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aimo Jäger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konrad Fink in the 22nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Die Nordländer defense, Konrad Fink kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aimo Jäger. The Die Nordländer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aimo Jäger should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the match, FC Mainzweiler's goal looked a bit too open when Rappo Jaksch came free, but Stanislaw Kokott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanislaw Kokott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rappo Jaksch in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Gunther Vorwerk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Mainzweiler's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunther Vorwerk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Die Nordländer getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Christoph Krutten hit a great ball. FC Mainzweiler were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Die Nordländer's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gunther Vorwerk took the corner. 47 minutes into the match, FC Mainzweiler's goal looked a bit too open when Rappo Jaksch came free, but Stanislaw Kokott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Die Nordländer's Aimo Jäger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Die Nordländer from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gunther Vorwerk to strike the kick off in the second half. Gunther Vorwerk might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aimo Jäger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gunther Vorwerk ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Konrad Fink managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Mainzweiler's supporters rose to their feet, but Konrad Fink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aimo Jäger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gunther Vorwerk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 59 minutes, Kuno Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Die Nordländer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kuno Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gunther Vorwerk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aimo Jäger was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The supporters of FC Mainzweiler booed when Die Nordländer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopold Bogenrieder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesse Ohm kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Die Nordländer's zone, Casimir Domann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aimo Jäger came out of the goal and Casimir Domann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute Rappo Jaksch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislaw Kokott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Casimir Domann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that FC Mainzweiler were the better team. FC Mainzweiler's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
