Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Eintracht Braunschweig's goal looked a bit too open when Ludwig Pilz came free, but Ludwig Szymanski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Eintracht Braunschweig's Eric Seiffert got a free kick in the 4th minute. When Volker Kohlstedt came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Happy team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Volker Kohlstedt couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Ludwig Pilz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Happy team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Volker Kohlstedt struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ludwig Szymanski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Happy team. Ludwig Pilz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ludwig Szymanski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Ortwin Schäfer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eintracht Braunschweig's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Happy team the free kick. Ortwin Schäfer hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes Eintracht Braunschweig got a freekick which was hit by Boris Hauer. Happy team's Elmar Frosch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Hug in the 21st minute of play. Volker Kohlstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ludwig Szymanski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, Happy team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johannes Krämer to maneuver through the defense. When Ludwig Pilz came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Happy team fans jumped to their feet. After some careless play in the Eintracht Braunschweig defense, Volker Kohlstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ludwig Szymanski. The Eintracht Braunschweig fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ludwig Szymanski should have stopped the shot. After 39 played minutes Happy team got a freekick which was hit by Johannes Krämer. After 44 played minutes Eintracht Braunschweig got a freekick which was hit by Massimo Pitz. Ludwig Szymanski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Pilz in the 45th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Eintracht Braunschweig's Elmar Frosch threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hubert Hug, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Happy team getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Welf Muschelknautz hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hubert Hug to make the kick off. Ludwig Szymanski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Volker Kohlstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ludwig Pilz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ludwig Szymanski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volker Kohlstedt in the 59th minute of play. Eric Seiffert hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Volker Kohlstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ludwig Pilz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ludwig Szymanski firmly grabbed it by the left post. Volker Kohlstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ludwig Szymanski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hubert Hug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ludwig Pilz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Volker Kohlstedt might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ludwig Szymanski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Volker Kohlstedt ran back to his position shaking his head.
