After a rather tough play, Tellschütz's Esteban Rott got a free kick in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürgen Wienecke in the 10th minute of play forced Tellschütz's goalkeeper Ronny Beier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Mischa Simpson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ronny Beier to make any attempt to save it. Stefano Frieden made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dittmar Strich immediately put the ball in play. Ronny Beier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jürgen Wienecke in the 24th minute of the match. Esteban Rott kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Ronny Beier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mischa Simpson in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Mischa Simpson could shoot a difficult shot in the 31st minute, which Ronny Beier however easily saved by the left post. Esteban Rott's late challenge caught a 1.FC Union Berlin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteban Rott helped the player get up and apologised. 45 minutes into the match, 1.FC Union Berlin's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Hoppensack came free, but Benjamin Fischer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jürgen Wienecke to make the kick off. Ronny Beier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mischa Simpson, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Jürgen Wienecke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronny Beier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mischa Simpson in the 57th minute of play. Benjamin Fischer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurij Schütze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Mischa Simpson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Tellschütz's Ronny Beier. Ronny Beier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
