James Klütz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Walter Jung took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Klütz. James Klütz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. James Klütz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignaz Haug, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uripils's Christian Graf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clint Bonin in the 16th minute of play. When FC Goatstaller's Clint Bonin in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Christian Graf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jens Hopke's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but James Klütz firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 44 played minutes FC Goatstaller got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Schrader. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karl Groth to make the kick off.
