In the 4th minute Jürgen Wienecke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Rosenbaum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jürgen Wienecke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 8th minute, Mischa Simpson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jürgen Wienecke struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Edgar Rosenbaum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1.FC Union Berlin. In the 10th match minute, Eisenbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselm Johannsen to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Rosenbaum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dittmar Strich in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Jürgen Wienecke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Union Berlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jürgen Wienecke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar Rosenbaum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mischa Simpson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Jürgen Wienecke left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 1.FC Union Berlin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dittmar Strich during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, 1.FC Union Berlin's Dittmar Strich got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes into the match, Eisenbach's goal looked a bit too open when Mischa Simpson came free, but Edgar Rosenbaum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jürgen Wienecke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Rosenbaum having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ergün Erler during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, 1.FC Union Berlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ergün Erler to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the game, one of 1.FC Union Berlin:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Eisenbach's Lionel Mers got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Benjamin Fischer. Mischa Simpson took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Rosenbaum. Edgar Rosenbaum dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When Eisenbach's Ferit Höppner in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 65 minutes, Anselm Johannsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eisenbach and the 1.FC Union Berlin players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edgar Rosenbaum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jürgen Wienecke in the 66th minute of the match. Andreas Strzelczyk's late challenge caught a 1.FC Union Berlin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andreas Strzelczyk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Eisenbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Strzelczyk to maneuver through the defense. Jürgen Wienecke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Eisenbach's zone, Jürgen Wienecke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Rosenbaum came out of the goal and Jürgen Wienecke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82ndth minute of the game Jürgen Wienecke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Eisenbach's Edgar Rosenbaum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgar Rosenbaum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jürgen Wienecke, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eisenbach's goalkeeper Edgar Rosenbaum, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jürgen Wienecke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Edgar Rosenbaum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mischa Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Rosenbaum having to interfere. When the match was over 1.FC Union Berlin could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Eisenbach throughout the match.
