After 9 played minutes Beienrode got a freekick which was hit by Marc Juhr. Walter Aretz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Friedemann Nittel having to make a save. Friedemann Nittel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Aretz in the 15th minute of the match. Walter Aretz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Radim Keuken got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Friedemann Nittel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Aretz, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 44 minutes into the game, Stefan Holthoff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Werder's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beienrode the free kick. After a rather tough play, SV Werder's Stefan Holthoff got a free kick in the 44th minute. Radim Keuken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunther Gowinkowsky having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Radim Keuken to strike the kick off in the second half. Walter Aretz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Friedemann Nittel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, SV Werder's Walter Aretz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Beienrode's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Walter Aretz scored to the left of an out of position Friedemann Nittel, making the score, 0-3. Paul Vida's late challenge caught a SV Werder's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paul Vida helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Paul Vida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st match minute, Beienrode was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfred Ernemann to maneuver through the defense. When Walter Aretz came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the SV Werder fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walter Aretz couldn't finish the play. In the 77th match minute, SV Werder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Lenke to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, SV Werder's Walter Aretz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Friedemann Nittel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The SV Werder players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
