Thorsten Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malte Koppelberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frederik Schaumann hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Thorsten Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederik Schaumann in the 29th minute of play. Tom Sieben's late challenge caught a FSV Harz Thale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tom Sieben helped the player get up and apologised. BSG Gera Süd:s Conny Schwarz showed great skill when he stopped Sebastian Brozulat:s penalty. Dragan Kömm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Conny Schwarz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Frederik Schaumann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thorsten Becker. FSV Harz Thale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frederik Schaumann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Oskar Ternes charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oskar Ternes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute, Oskar Ternes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the BSG Gera Süd defense, Karel Brockes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conny Schwarz. The BSG Gera Süd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conny Schwarz should have stopped the shot. Oskar Ternes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thorsten Becker having to make a save. 60 minutes into the match, FSV Harz Thale's goalkeeper Thorsten Becker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cees Lohrmann. After 66 played minutes BSG Gera Süd got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Ternes. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cees Lohrmann got free with Thorsten Becker in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cees Lohrmann kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FSV Harz Thale's Sönke Grupe got a free kick in the 87th minute. Karel Brockes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 94 in the game by Frederik Schaumann from a close distance when the talented Thorsten Becker managed to make a qualified save. FSV Harz Thale's players were relieved. In the 95th minute, BSG Gera Süd's Matti Kampeter ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thorsten Becker. Thorsten Becker yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. BSG Gera Süd's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
