Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mark Debus kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Hajo Borger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tillmann Haug was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Debus in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinhold Jerems prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerhard Jakob during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 15 minutes into the match, Kella's Nico Ostwald broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Mark Debus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 20 minutes, Mark Debus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Debus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Kella's goal looked a bit too open when Lothar Stötzel came free, but Tillmann Haug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Debus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinhold Jerems having to interfere. Checkpoint's Reinhold Jerems proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Checkpoint from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd match minute, Checkpoint was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerhard Jakob to maneuver through the defense. 0-2 became the score in the 35th minute when Hajo Borger elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Reinhold Jerems made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Debus in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Alfred Wewers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kella's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfred Wewers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinhold Jerems breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Reinhold Jerems took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Debus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Kella booed when Checkpoint was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnabas Berg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stefan Vengels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinhold Jerems having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, Barnabas Berg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Checkpoint's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kella the free kick. In the 72nd minute there was a penalty for Kella. Nico Ostwald stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Reinhold Jerems. 1-2. Reinhold Jerems showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Debus in the 89th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Checkpoint's zone, Mark Debus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinhold Jerems came out of the goal and Mark Debus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinhold Jerems took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Wewers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kella were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
