The shot was a little too simple and Tillmann Haug could save by the left post. 9 minutes in the game, Frederik Schaumann fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tillmann Haug having to interfere. With a little luck, Kella's Tillmann Haug got control of the ball when Frederik Schaumann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oskar Ternes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tillmann Haug having to interfere. Frederik Schaumann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oskar Ternes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cees Lohrmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tillmann Haug showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederik Schaumann, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Alfred Wewers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Schwarz having to interfere. When Mark Debus came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Kella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Debus couldn't finish the play. The supporters of BSG Gera Süd booed when Kella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Vengels didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tillmann Haug came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by BSG Gera Süd's Frederik Schaumann. But to his dismay, Frederik Schaumann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mark Debus was the one to do the kick off. Frederik Schaumann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tillmann Haug having to interfere. Frederik Schaumann scored 2-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tillmann Haug, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfred Wewers got free with Conny Schwarz in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 67 played minutes Mark Debus rounded BSG Gera Süd's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Bert Szende hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Matti Kampeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Frederik Schaumann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tillmann Haug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alfred Wewers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Tom Sieben was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BSG Gera Süd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kella the free kick. The supporters of Kella booed when BSG Gera Süd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Sieben didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Kella's Conny Schwarz threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mark Debus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 95th minute, Cees Lohrmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. BSG Gera Süd had won after a very even match.
