Reinhold Jerems made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfons Raeder in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Checkpoint's goal looked a bit too open when Alfons Raeder came free, but Reinhold Jerems reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Checkpoint was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hajo Borger to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th match minute, Checkpoint was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barnabas Berg to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Großengottern's Aimo Koppermann tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Barnabas Berg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Checkpoint's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Großengottern the free kick. Barnabas Berg hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Aimo Koppermann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Checkpoint's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alfons Raeder fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Großengottern booed when Checkpoint was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wulf Kage didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aimo Koppermann took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reinhold Jerems. Checkpoint's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Großengottern's Alfons Raeder managed to work through Checkpoint's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alfons Raeder dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When Kai Herbig fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Großengottern's protests and gave Kai Herbig a yellow card for diving instead. Checkpoint's Reinhold Jerems played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Raeder in the 38th minute of play. In the 47th minute Lothar Stötzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otfried Gellrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 48 played minutes Großengottern got a freekick which was hit by Kai Herbig.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfons Raeder was the one to do the kick off. Hajo Borger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otfried Gellrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerhard Jakob, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Alfons Raeder sped through Checkpoint's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reinhold Jerems. The supporters of Großengottern booed when Checkpoint was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerhard Jakob didn't get a good kick on the ball. Checkpoint:s Reinhold Jerems showed great skill when he stopped Aimo Koppermann:s penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 100th minute, Lothar Stötzel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Checkpoint's supporters rose to their feet, but Lothar Stötzel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otfried Gellrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Großengottern fans cheered their team off the field, for while Checkpoint had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
