When BSG Gera Süd's Frederik Schaumann, in the 22nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for BSG Gera Süd. After a defensive mix-up in Großengottern's zone, Matti Kampeter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otfried Gellrich came out of the goal and Matti Kampeter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the game, Frederik Schaumann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Otfried Gellrich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Otfried Gellrich came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by BSG Gera Süd's Frederik Schaumann. But to his dismay, Frederik Schaumann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, BSG Gera Süd's Matti Kampeter got a free kick in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Lion Liebherr was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Großengottern's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BSG Gera Süd the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frederik Schaumann to make the kick off. Conny Schwarz made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Werner Schöpfer sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute, Werner Schöpfer made a precise shot to the right of Conny Schwarz. BSG Gera Süd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. The supporters of Großengottern booed when BSG Gera Süd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malte Koppelberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Werner Schöpfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Schwarz having to interfere. Malte Koppelberg kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Werner Schöpfer got free with Conny Schwarz in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BSG Gera Süd had played much better football throughout.
