Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thies Thoma started the match with the kick off. Sören Bleiziffer kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. When Mark Debus came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Kella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Debus couldn't finish the play. Mark Debus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Barkow having to interfere. With his leg Tillmann Haug managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when 1.FC Vorwärts's Andreas Homolka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mark Debus struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Adam Barkow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kella. If Mark Debus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Alfred Wewers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Wewers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, 1.FC Vorwärts's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Debus came free, but Adam Barkow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Wewers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1.FC Vorwärts's Adam Barkow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Debus in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Kella getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Bozo Plaggemeyer hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, 1.FC Vorwärts's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Wewers came free, but Adam Barkow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1.FC Vorwärts's goalkeeper Adam Barkow, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mark Debus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stefan Vengels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Barkow having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Mark Debus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam Barkow. 1.FC Vorwärts's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mark Debus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mark Debus was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, 1.FC Vorwärts's Arno Zerr sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tillmann Haug narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thies Thoma in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tillmann Haug saved Kella from getting behind. After a rather tough play, 1.FC Vorwärts's Dirk Nester got a free kick in the 57th minute. When Mark Debus came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Kella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Debus couldn't finish the play. Adam Barkow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Debus, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute, Thies Thoma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andreas Homolka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ole Fassbinder charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ole Fassbinder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arvid Brandi hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the match, Kella's Nico Ostwald broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th minute, Mark Debus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mark Debus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Barkow having to interfere. Alfred Wewers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ole Fassbinder was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 96 minutes had been played. Adam Barkow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Debus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
