Ubbo Vöhringer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otfried Gellrich having to interfere. Otfried Gellrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubbo Vöhringer in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubbo Vöhringer in the 22nd minute of play forced Großengottern's goalkeeper Otfried Gellrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Alfons Raeder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Großengottern's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfons Raeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Sobieray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Werner Schöpfer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Sobieray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Lion Liebherr hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Emanuel Sobieray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfons Raeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helmut Haller charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Helmut Haller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Helmut Haller kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Equord's zone, Alfons Raeder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Sobieray came out of the goal and Alfons Raeder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Werner Schöpfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfons Raeder was the one to do the kick off. Großengottern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Werner Schöpfer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ubbo Vöhringer struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Otfried Gellrich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Equord. Emanuel Sobieray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfons Raeder in the 60th minute of play. If Werner Schöpfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burkhardt Lankes's late challenge caught a Großengottern's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burkhardt Lankes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Großengottern booed when Equord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burkhardt Lankes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfons Raeder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carl Kasik hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Emanuel Sobieray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Werner Schöpfer in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Pitterling in the 81st minute of play forced Großengottern's goalkeeper Otfried Gellrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Matthias Pitterling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubbo Vöhringer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otfried Gellrich having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
